No, no I wouldn't Larry Send a noteboard - 25/08/2010 08:28:42 PM
Of course, how many would want to register here just to vote might be an issue and I would kill anyone I find out who votes for me (is it too late to remove my name from the list?)

It is of course a bit tricky how to rate people like yourself - and most of the other nominees for that matter - who largely post reviews that they have written for their blog and just copypaste or link to here. But such reviews are still interesting and valuable contributions to the board, so it's still deserved I'd say.

As for blogging about it, up to you. The amount of votes will likely be limited as you noted, yes, so it's likely that even a handful of outsiders who read about it on your blog or Twitter account might swing the balance in some categories. And if some of those people make an account here and perhaps drop by some more to participate in discussions or put up links to interesting stuff on their blogs, it'd be worth it.

I'd think it'd be ridiculous simply because the majority of the threads I start here (or the reviews, anyway) are just copy/pastes from the OF Blog.

As for the other, I think I've already had enough of an influence on the nominations - look at the Other Lit/Non-Fiction categories But I may post something at least to bring awareness and just to have fun with everything, since that's what this is all about anyway, right?

The Hugo system does look good, but seems like it'd have problems with small amounts of voters. - 25/08/2010 04:11:48 PM 598 Views
