Fortnum & Masons. The pastry was still crusty.

Imagine my despair when last in London, after a special trip to Fortnum's, to find they were sold out.

That is a crime right there! It is deeply shocking they could allow you to come all that way and not have a pork pie reserved for you!

Then there was the daily pilgrimage to Messrs. Craske's, Pork Butchers of Little London Street, Norwich, whenever visiting parents. My daughter accompanied me once, and she still recalls the happy feelings engendered by stuffing one's face with pie at 10 in the morning while walking down Little London Street.

I've never been there but I'm very likely to be out on the Norfolk Broads during the course of this year, I shall have to make a stop to sample their wares

I blame my father. He used to get his supplies from Musk's of Newmarket - pork pies and sausages. Spoilt me for the commercial offerings.

I can imagine. I can live with the mass produced offerings but it is merely living.
My father has a contact in Melton Mowbray who slips him the occasional hand made pie once in a while. They don't really compare to the factory made pies.

When will these heathens learn that the stuff they call "fat" is simply gelatin injected to keep the pastry from sagging on to the pork? Heathens. What else to expect from persons who like cake for breakfast?

They are a fallen people, little better than Canadians
