IMHO Goku is just like Superman except he can will himself to grow more powerful, plus he doesn't need a yellow sun to be powerful. Goku and his friends have also fought more powerful enemies than Superman and his Justice League pals have. Who cares about Lex Luthor when you have routinely beaten beings of god-like power and divinity?
