Considering myself a Centrist who leans to the left on some issues, to the right on some other issues, and in non-traditional directions on the remaining issues (see Bright Green Environmentalism), I have been watching the nomination and confirmation fight with some interest.
But being young enough/apathetic about politics, I don't really remember the historical makeup of the SC. All I know are certain decisions over its 200 years. I actually only see pundits talking about how the Supreme Court will be for generations to come in the future. I don't see them placing the ideological makeup within its historical context other than to talk about Kennedy and O'Connor. But what about its makeup before?
