I say this as a fan of the team with the best record, coming off a sweep of the Red Sox. The season is a clown show and commissioner Rob Manfred is clown in chief.
Last week, the LA Dodgers became the first team ever to win a game via a leadoff TWO RUN HOMER. Think about that. How is this possible? The insanely stupid new rule that if a game is tied and thus goes into extra innings, at a certain point the innings begin with a runner on second base. What is this, Whiffle Ball? What's next, "invisible runner on third?" What is the point of this travesty of a backyard baseball rule? To hasten the end of the game because the truncated season has so few off days. Here's a thought. If you have to worry about completing a "season" that is already only 38% of a normal full season, maybe you should cancel the fucking thing, huh?
Similarly, the Coronavirus outbreaks on the Marlins, Phillies and Cardinals have already resulted in multiple postponements, which will require playing doubleheaders to make up in time. Commissioner Bozo has already recommended doubleheader games be shortened to seven innings instead of the standard nine. This is yet another travesty that clearly shows the stupidity of playing this out.
Multiple players have already elected not to play this year. More opt out whenever there's a new positive test. The idiot Commissioner's response is, "I'm no quitter." Too bad because he should quit his goddamned job.
This is horrendous and I fear NFL football will be worse. NFL Commissioner Goodell may be a bigger clown than Manfred, if such a thing is possible.
