the track and field things... by far. As a runner up, there's always handball and table tennis, but no swedish team in the handball this year made it a bit more uninteresting...
This olympics was the first I had heard of handball. I thought handball was like racquet ball except played by slapping the ball. I didn't know there was anything like what I saw.
From a swedish pov: mens' high jump, he had been world nr. 1 for two years, and made a mess out of it, but managed to pull himself together and win it. Good boy.
Now that would have been interesting. the high jumper. I really appreciate it when the station broadcasting the olympics takes the time to tell you a little personal history about the atheletes. They may have told about him here but that was one of the events I missed completely.
Also, when the old man in the table tennis tournament made it to the semis... beating world nr 2 and world nr 10 to do so... It was impressive, considering his background. It was also fun, considering his opponents were trained by people who started playing 6 years after he himself did his first international championship... He's old.
Dang! Now that would have been fun to see. Except what do you term "old"? Be very careful how you answer this.
Thanks for answering.
~hugs~
