hurricanes....does it fit into a pattern of extreme weather? That's what matters here. What also matters is the extent to which people believe it does. As for pre 1950 numbers.....again it begs that question as to whether it fits into a pattern of extreme weather. You can't just look at one issue and conclude that. Personally I'll just take Mierins post on it as further clarification coming from her though it would have helped if she had been more forthcoming in the beginning.
