whatever other valid arguments you want to use to argue the point, Atlantic hurricane frequency is not one of them. Period.
the argument isn't even just about the frequency here. Is it ALL part of a pattern of more extreme weather? By lookign at things in isolation like you do you merely muddy the waters. If however you look at things and ask.....Do the latest hurricanes follow a pattern of extreme weather? then past atlantic hurricane frequency merely becomes one variable to look at. Now it was quite easy to look at things in isolation from Mierins original post, but it's also ignoring the wider picture that the atlantic hurricanes might also be forming. If it is forming a wider picture then that might indeed give some people pause.
You looked at mierins post and decided to look at it all in isolation. There was more than one way of lookign at it. Also whatever you might like to think, the hurricanes may indeed have something to do with global warming. I'm not even suggesting they do, to look at events in isolation is flawed, it's the overall pattern that matters.
