...about some people my friends know, who attached about three or four bikes and put a cardboard Hummer frame around it, and then drove it on the streets, about the speed that a bike would go, yet taking up the space of a Hummer.

Just thought it was a funny comment. You know, like "man, you wanna know how annoying and unneccesary most people think these things are?" and then building an absurd, slow-moving parody.
