poliglotism.... or am i just making it up? it is poliglotismo in spanish...
You're probably right, and if you're not, well we're saying you are.
well... i like to think i'm bilingual, but i've never travelled to an english speaking country, so my speaking skills aren' the best
They get *much* better whenever you visit a country with a different language. I've only really been to Mexico, so I tend to associate with that accent, but I have a friend who lived in Argentina for a few months, and she came back slurring things, ignoring some sounds, and was all in all completely indecipherable.
I got used to it later, especially when right after she got back we had an Argentina come as an exchange student.
But i do that in spanish a lot! If i spend enough time with someone with a different accent (eg, mi best friend's family) i end up talking like them.
Most of my friends' families speak with a similar accent to me, so I can't really do that... but this one time a telemarketer called. At first, he had a really thick southern US accent, and after a moment, I did too. Then he shifted his accent to a crisp british accent. I followed him into that one. Finally he dropped back into a Indian (as in India) accent, and when I followed there too, he hung up on me! I loved it... telemarketers almost never hang up on customers.
