But that only applies in certain parts. One of my mother's friends is a great guy named Gabriel, and I think he's from a coastal town. Where he's from everyone drops certain sounds entirely. Instead of Donde esta? It's 'Onde eta? It's a bit freaky...
I've heard worse. Where my husband is from (Guanajuato), they actually say "on ta" instead of "donde esta"
You know, I kinda felt wierd the first time I went to Mexico to visit my in-laws because I realized I had a man's accent. There are many guys here but not very many women brave the crossing...especially back then. There are alot more here now. Anyway, I was around groups of women and they definately had a different accent from the guys. I was hoping they didn't think I was manly or something
