I've heard worse. Where my husband is from (Guanajuato), they actually say "on ta" instead of "donde esta"

You know, I kinda felt wierd the first time I went to Mexico to visit my in-laws because I realized I had a man's accent. There are many guys here but not very many women brave the crossing...especially back then. There are alot more here now. Anyway, I was around groups of women and they definately had a different accent from the guys. I was hoping they didn't think I was manly or something
You? Manly? Never. What's really sad is I learned Spanish from five women and one man. (teachers and relatives). I speak not quite effeminately... but my spanish is more suited to girlishness... so yeah... trying to flirt when you sound a lot like the girls, not too easy.
