Christ. Maybe that was just the one person in that video in Spanish class, but that was pretty much impossible to follow for poor novice Castilian-speakers like us. Oh, and Cuban is very nice. As is Mexican (the one Mexican speaker I heard, still in the same video, anyway - I should probably go rewatch Y Tú Mama También or Amores Perros to really judge).
They are widely considered to be the most proper and most clear of the Spanish-speaking countries. And you need to learn the Colombianisms to read Márquez properly
