Um, duh? I don't see why this would only go for multi-lingual people... if, for instance, an American goes to live in the UK for a year for some exchange program or such, don't you think he/she will be speaking with a British accent when returning, as well?

In one conversation. Unilingual people tend to stick to their own accent when dealing with other accents (From what I've seen...) whereas polygots (thanks for the above post ) tend to shift their accent to match those they speak with.

I have this to a rather large degree, though... put me around Dutchies for like ten minutes, and I already catch myself pronouncing certain sounds really exaggeratedly like they do. Same thing for when I was in Québec... but that was cause Québecois is just that cool.

Are you uniligual? Are we just talking English here? I'm confused...
