No, it's that for me, the Mexican dialects I've heard seem to contract/soften/sometimes slur the middle syllables of words, making it hard for me to catch the word.
like when there's a consonant between two vowels, it gets 'softer' or even disappears entirely. Americans tend to do that a little also, eg: saying 'budder' instead of 'butter' etc...
There's a word for that but for the life of me, I can't remember it...it's been too long since I graduated
