Please list the 5 best British authored books you've ever read. I'm curious of what you've read, and how I can expand on my British literature.

1. Possession by AS Byatt
2. 1984 by George Orwell
3. The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien
4. I'd go with the best book by Roald Dahl, but I have a hard time deciding which one that is...
5. Can't decide, I'll leave it open for now and see if somebody I've overlooked comes to mind suddenly.
