I'll look around for some dealers. Thanks! LiterateDog Send a noteboard - 28/04/2010 12:12:45 AM
I've got dozens in perfect condition that my father left me. I've been wondering how to get rid of them. Think I should sell 'em on eBay or craigslist or something?

Considering the cheapest on Amazon is around $40, I would imagine you could get some nice dough for them. I have a moratorium on buying new books (trades are a different matter) until I have a full-time job again, otherwise I'd probably pay a few hundred if you had some nice ones for sale.

Selling 'em might be a lot of trouble. I'd let you have the books until you could pay for 'em. Or, if you have a favorite or two, I'd just give those to you. I was going to put them on a table in my building lobby with a sign saying "free books". I'm trying to go all digital except for books that have special meaning attached to the actual copy. Not tonight, though. Probably this weekend.

I don't think it's too difficult to set up an Ebay account and sell them for say $40-50/book. I imagine there'll be plenty of people who'll pay more money than I can afford now and you'd get it quicker. There probably are quite a few dealers in the Boston area that would snatch those up in a heartbeat and give you a fair idea of what they're worth.

I'd still have given them away if not for your post, so you can definitely have one as a "thank you".

Thanks, but it'll likely be 6-12 months before I have enough money set aside for purchases like that - 27/04/2010 09:11:17 PM 359 Views
