As I said, I loved the wacky humour, the little Miéville dark touches and the delirious imagination, and I thought it was a great novel for kids. But in my eyes it was clearly a novel for kids, and not the sort that has much appeal to adults. I read it out of curiosity because I love Miéville, and I'm glad I did, but I also gave it away to a kid right after.
Because of Un Lun Dun, the notion of a wacky Miéville novel not aimed at kids sounds promising.
