Will follow that up with 'The Neverending Story', by Michael Ende, translated into English by Ralph Manheim. Amazingly, I found the book in an airport bookstore. Being a devoted fan of the 80's movie, I just had to buy it.
After that, I've recently acquired 'Mort' by Terry Pratchett.
That ought to do it for May. There may be other reads, but these are my planned reads.
The chief difficulty Alice found at first was in managing her flamingo.

I've read it. I enjoyed it, which surprised me, because Eliot isn't the happiest writer.

I take it from that statement that The Mill on the Floss is basic reading in other countries?
