For you this would be a much more relevant book than the Aslan book I reviewed. The Aslan book might be a nice read if you get some extra time whereas this book addresses much more concerning how Muslims around the world actually feel in the light of globalization (probably more pertinent to your studies).
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...
