Robin Hobb is one of my favorite authors but for some reason I am hesitant to pick up this series. Maybe it was because of the big let-down of the Solider Son trilogy. Anyways, since she is going back to the Farseer world, was there any major revelations? Do the Dragons get cured or something? What kind of spoilers from the Farseer trilogy? Is the Fool or Fitz mentioned?
Maybe I overemphasized that part, the connections to the Tawny Man are not many (and even less for Farseer). There is no mentioning of any characters from the Fitz books. There is one thing relating to the ending in Fool's Fate which is revealed in the beginning of The Dragon Keeper. But that should not really have any major impact on the reading experience.
The connections to Liveship Traders are much larger. The story kind of continues where it left off in Ship of Destiny. Some of the characters from Liveship Traders are mentioned or appear briefly in the Rain Wild Chronicles.
There are a lot of relevations regarding the nature of dragons and Elderlings in the two books.
