I still enjoyed them, but if the entire series was like the first few books, I wouldn't have read them.

They get bigger and better once it hits.... book 3, I'd say.


The biggest problem with Storm Front is that the entire book was written for a creative writing class Butcher was enrolled in. That's why it, and to an extent, the next two, are so formulaic. I didn't really get into the series until book four, Summer Knight when he seems to find his own voice.

Just give it time. The books get a lot better as they continue.
