Very well done review. I honestly get the feeling though that he sided with the greens, especially in the later books. In the last book the lady who starts the red mars movement I think even comes to realize it is a bit ridiculous. I loved this book, the others not at all. This one is definitely hard sci-fi, so if you don't like that stay away. The others become economic screeds against the evils of capitalism which I couldn't get into at all. The ending also felt a little anti-climactic and unexplained to me.

Overall the series is worth reading but not without its faults.
