I accidentally went to a book signing today - Duncan Lay Mix Send a noteboard - 18/07/2010 08:53:13 AM
I was at a local shopping centre today and as I approached the bookshop I saw the table out front that they only have set up for book signings.

Typically the only writers who turn up here are little old ladies who have written something like 'A history of rail road signalmen in the coalfields from 1867-1869' or 'country women's association: a generation of service' so I was not all that interested at first.

However as I got closer I saw what looked like fiction on the table so I headed up to the desk after the person currently chatting with the writer moved off.

He started out asking me if I read fantasy, then started giving me the hard sell. He had his sales pitch down to a tight 2 min but relaxed as I asked a few questions and he realised I really was a fan of his genre and likely to buy. I grabbed the first book 'The Wounded Guardian' and got him to sign it.

It might of been his easiest sale today, now to have a read.
