Did Feast and KoD not come out within a month in 2005 in the UK? I remember that they did come out close together, but I can't recall how close.

The US releases were only about three weeks apart, and in the UK it was closer, less than a fortnight.

In addition, ASoIaF already is a #1 NYT-bestselling series, so whilst Bantam would love to do it again, they're not putting as much emphasis on it.

As for Bantam getting the book out in 2010, they stressed they'd try to do it. They're not promising anything and it is fully dependent on when GRRM hands the book in. Every day's delay at this point reduces the chances of 2010 publication.

GRRM is already up to circa 100 MS pages on Winds. The mind boggles at the timeline issues. *NM* - 01/08/2010 04:35:20 PM 329 Views

GRRM's now finished 8 POVs, with at least 2 left. I wonder how many more he has to go. *NM* - 08/08/2010 01:15:24 AM 367 Views
