i'd nominate this as the most blatant lotr rip off ever Foxhead Send a noteboard - 31/08/2010 08:22:37 AM
The single most blatant LOTR clone around, with very few redeeming features of it's own. I can't speak to the quality of the recording, but the writing is not worth paying for.

that's a bit harsh, a couple of the novels are alright, granted i've not read them for years and have recently gotten rid of them all. i have good memories of reading them as a youngster, i decided not to read them again given that the latest shannara series was tosh and compared to some of the fantasy epics i've read now they seem a bit...derivative and ordinary

even still i think they have their place; if you were trying to introduce children to fantasy books the shannara book would be a good place to start, the link below would not be
the iron tower

The Shannara series was cliche even back when it was written. It's downright painful now. - 30/08/2010 09:32:36 PM 801 Views
