- Clarke's 2001: A Space Odyssey, a classic of science fiction (in cooperation with the TV & Movies board, maybe?)
- a number of stories by Edgar Allan Poe, perhaps? Might be fun to discuss and compare various short stories, rather than a single book, and Poe is both immensely influential on various genres (horror, detective, speculative fiction in general) and a good writer, imho
