Ah, no. Cloud 9 is a play. It is a little heavy-handed at times, but interesting nonetheless. Part of the point of it is that it has some very clear instructions for those performing it to use men in the girl's part or a woman in a boy's part in order to highlight some points. It also made me blush, but that is beside the point. It also tries to tie gender relations to colonialism. As I said, it is heavy-handed, but it is also interesting. I haven't read anything quite like it.

Even though I'm still not quite sure what precisely our director intended to convey at the time by having the female roles in that play played by boys, and the other way around. It might have been more of a practical matter, considering the actors and actresses at his disposal...

It sounds interesting to actually require that, though, especially if it also involves colonialism.
