Is that the newest generation of Kindle actually uses those connections to power the light on the lighted version. On the non-lighted version the two metal hooks that hold it are still electrically connected (by a metal spine), during use, the paint on the connections rubs off, and it shorts out the Kindle and causing it to freeze, reboot, or crash.
