I can only thing of two examples though.

When I first read WoT it was over a two week period in the summer. I didn't have school or work, so I was basically reading it 12+ hours a day. So, since I was basically in that "world" for every waking moment, whenever I smell a certain brand of shampoo that I was using at the time... well, I'm not going to say anything that will make me look even nerdier.

The other was the Golden Compass series. I listened to Decemberists - Crane Wife while I read it and now I think of it every time I listen to that album. It was also the first time I was listening to the album and I really liked it, so they kinda added to each other.
