I found out I have it. In Norwegian, but still. I got it ages ago (probably nearing 10 years) from my cousin and I never picked it up.

I'm not sure I'd recommend reading Byatt in translation. Especially since your opinion of Norwegian translations in general doesn't seem to be that positive, from what I've seen.


No, I would probably not read it in translation (one of the reasons I never read it), but I have this thing about reading the books I own, which sometimes results in me buying other language versions in order to read them.

Can You Forgive Her? is the title (I have to admit it mostly drew my notice for reminding me of an identically titled Pet Shop Boys song - the Pet Shop Boys being, as it turns out, not a band Anthony Trollope would've gotten along very well with).

Not wildly enthusiastic so far, but it's decent, we'll see what I think when I've finished it.


I haven't read that one. I am not a great fan of his. But I have never read a complete Trollope book, so I shouldn't pretend to be an expert.
