It's called the Name of the Wind, but the names were all the same. Comet Sedai Send a noteboard - 03/03/2011 12:37:34 AM
So having just picked up my copy of The Wise Mans Fear this evening, all 994 hefty pages. I sat down to read it and briefly wondered if I should have reread The Name of the Wind first...

...but not to worry, the ever helpful Patrick Rothfuss has provided a magnificent 20 cartoon panel summary of the 1st book. Props to them for working a LotR reference in.

I listened to this book on audiobook, and it nearly drove me insane. So, let's see...

Locations: Tarbean, not to be confused with Trebon
Hero: Taborlin, not to be confused with Tarbean or Treban
Lady: Denna, who eats denner (resin)

More People: Elodin, not be confused with Arlinden, or Eoleen (sp?Eoween? something like that), the lady Kv sings about

Location: Eolian, where Kv sings of Eoleen. Not to be confused with Elodin. Or Arlinden.

There are probably more that I'm forgetting. Oh yeah...need to bind the alar, and find the mythical Emyr. Seems Rothfuss is very fond of B, E, L, M, O, R, and T. Belmort. Maybe that's the name of wind?

A good book, but the Names drove me nuts.
The chief difficulty Alice found at first was in managing her flamingo.
