Huh. Perhaps it is time to consider reading the series, then.
I cannot help wondering, from the title. Is it related to the myth of Hefaistos, who was thrown from Olympus?
If you haven't read any of the book anything would be a spoiler. It's all so interconnected that it's hard to discuss anything without spoiling the whole thing. Not until you at least reach book 3 

Well, I've read the first two, so in a sense I have "reached" book 3

I am not terribly concerned about that sort of spoilers for Erikson, though.
