Sounds interesting. Nate Send a noteboard - 11/05/2011 10:17:39 PM
I highly enjoy World War II history, so it sounds right up my alley. I believe I read a few of the same ideas sprinkled into William Manchester's biography of Churchill, but not addressed with any great depth. I have so many other WWII-related books to read first though -- Kershaw's Hitler biography, a book about Stalin, William Shirer's "Collapse of the Third Republic" in which he examines why they didn't stand up to Hitler and why they had their heads handed to them when they did, and probably more that I'm forgetting. My stack of historical reading also holds The Campaigns of Napoleon, Foote's Civil War trilogy, Churchill's WWI book, Gwynne Dyer's "War", and some angry-journalistic-history in Robert Fisk's "The Great War For Civilisation", which I have no idea if I'll agree with but couldn't stop reading at the bookstore.

Good to know about this one too though.
