I'm still getting through books from previous years. I like it better this way as they get more reactions as time passes so it's easier to chose which one I'm interested in. That's why I'm ususally only up to speed on series I really like.

1. Try to name up to five spec fic novels released in 2010-2011.

Scalzi "Fuzzy Nation", Erikson "The Crippled God", Stross "The Fueller Memorandum", Mieville "Embassytown", Banks "Surface Details" and many more but you only wanted 5 ;) (hopefully I don't made any mistakes in the titles)

2. What about up to five spec fic anthologies?

I'm bad at remembering the titles generally and anthologies titles even more. I know Pat did one of them lately and I'm still looking for the Squirrel one :P. And there's always the year's best ones. I don't want to cheat by looking them up.

3. Can you identify without looking it up at least two of the Hugo nominees for Best Novel?

They've been announced recently so I remember them all but have the two I just got for my Kindle - "Ten Thousand Kingdoms" and "Feed" - as Orbit lower the ebook price to 2.99 for their nominees.

4. What about the Nebula Award?

It was a long time since those were announced so I forgot - there's too many awards to keep all the shortlists in memory - but I now the winners will be announced next week.
I also know "Zoo City" got Clarke's.

5. Do you feel that you are relatively well-informed on spec fic novels, especially the newer ones?

Generally yes but I sometimes I wish there was more information about new/lesser known authors. Especially for Standalone novels. Everyone concentrates on popular series and it's easy to miss the rest.

6. Which authors (or genre categories) would you like to know more about?

See 5. So I suppose anything that's not epic fantasy :P

7. Which spec fic-oriented blogs can you name and/or have visited?

Names again. OFblog, Pat's FH, Wertzone, nethspace, a dribble of ink, omnivoracious, word sf and many more
Evolution, just like gravity, works even if you don't believe in it.
