I liked the book, but the events felt a bit... disconnected. Like a bunch of short stories beetnemesis Send a noteboard - 16/06/2011 03:37:47 PM
Basically just a bunch of stories of "How awesome is Kvothe? SO AWESOME." Going off on that military mission was almost completely unconnected to the court intrigue plot, despite resulting directly from it. The whole sex-god thing was super random. The "learn fighting from the noble savages" thing was as well.

Basically, you could put the major plotlines of the book into a big box, shake it up, and take them out again in pretty much any order, and it would still more or less make sense.

I caught some of the stuff Nate was mentioning, but not all of it. And I definitely still enjoyed the book. It just felt... odd.
I amuse myself.

While I love the frame story, I do want to see what happens now that Kvothe has "broken the world." - 14/06/2011 11:54:59 PM 808 Views
