Those sentences did nothing for me. This sounds like another attempt at some kind of post-modern cleverness that takes itself too seriously and just ends up plain sucking. Just the mention of that atrocious piece of shit House of leaves makes me balk at even attempting this book.
Is this actually a good book or is it really an attempt by the author to prove himself capable of writing a novel that breaks the rules of common literary structure? Some people like that, coll, whatever, but not me. If that is all this book is then let me know so I don't waste my time.

Each sentence flows into another, creating a structure that endures throughout the novel. It is a focused work, if that helps. But for another take, here's a recent NYT review of it:

What the heck, we'll see. So far it is readable but I don't know that I would compare it to House of Leaves though. It has frustrated me a few times when it seemed like a prose was beginning only to have the author completely stop the rhythm of the words/sentences. I also find myself hoping this book really goes somewhere though.
