1. What was the deal with Fitz and the whole "sorcerer gang?" As far as I can tell, it had absolutely NOTHING to do with the main plot- the sequence of events is as follows:
It was a lesson for Harry in finding the real truth as opposed to going off half-cock. Considering he's a private investigator, he's spent much of the last 10 books or so, no more than in Chnages, blowing shit up. Normally in this situaton, with his friends under attack, and innocent people dead, he would have simply laid waste, reaction instead of action. However with no ability to interfere and only able to watch, he instead learned that they were as much victims as anyone else, they were pawns of a warlock. It was a calm considered solution forced on Harry by his very inability to react and so perhaps a lesson for the future about seeing things for what they truly are than what he thinks they are.
2. What, exactly, was Uriel's plot?
Half Christmas Carol - how the world fails without you, half Uriel just being happy he can do something since the other side cheated.
-Mab and Demonreach (and a "parasite" who provides him blood?) work at bringing Harry back to life, for 6 months.
The parasite - it must surely be Lasciel. Not as dormant as Harry would like to think.
