I believe Lena Heady was pregnant when they filmed the original pilot, back when Tamzin Merchant was playing Dany. I recall reading that they used a body double for the scene with Cersei and Jaime in the tower. Makes me doubt that her pregnancy was the reason for the way they shot that scene when they refilmed everything.


Interesting! That's what I get for not corroborating information I read online, I guess. :) I wonder why that scene was so tame then, compared to the one in the book? Was it to protect the innocence of Bran's actor? 0_o

How did the appearance of the arakhs differ from the book?


From my reading of the books I always understood them to be basically...well...scimitars. Some form of hooked blade, whether the blade be bent forward or backward, but still very sword-like. Not the strange scythe-like moon-blades they had in the show.

I myself have not been that happy with the costuming. Lannister Red (on the show) looks more like I would assume Tully Red looks (darker, muddier red, instead of a bright crimson scarlet red). To me the colors of the clothing and banners weren't as bright of colors as I always imagined from reading the books. I also didn't like the fact that they redesigned all of the house sigils, especially what they did to the Stark direwolf sigil. Looks like a scaled wolfish critter.


I respect all of that, I guess I just give them more room here than you do.
