Will be jumping into Sanderson's new epic series in a few weeks after some business travel. Just wondering the following, for those that read book 1, not looking for spoilers, but some context/opinions:

How did you like it?


Yes

What were the goods and bads of the book?


It had the general faults of Epic Fantasy, lots of time spent on things they don't really matter but thtat is the genre.

How is it's format? (typical hero/quest epic, something different)


It is hero questy but I wouldn't call it typical

What's unique about it.....i.e., what is the Sanderson spin?


His magic system is interesting as usual.

After the end of book 1, do you know where the rest of the series is heading?


a little but it takes most of the book. It is no where near as bad as Martin where I am in book four and still not sure where it is headed.

How does it compare to book 1 of other beloved epic series?


It is great first book

Are you eager to read book 2?


I am not counting the days are anything but I will read it when it comes out.
