I've heard that it's really good if you can power through the first book. I'm about halfway through the first book, and my head is spinning from terms/places/things that aren't being explained. Opinions on if I ought to hang in there?


it's the world's most unrewarding slog ever. don't get me wrong there are some pretty epic moments and deadhouse gates and memories of ice are fantastic, but the rest is incredibly incredibly tedious. every book could've done with some heavy editing

so there's my warning if it was me and i could tell the me before i read the series i would tell him not to read the series i read.
