There were a few times where I had an incredulous look on my face when I read (and commented) a few of the responses at Westeros the past few days. My favorite was the poster who seemed to be claiming that the other finalists wouldn't have had 500 books sold if it weren't for that award or others like it.

I'm going to read at least one and likely 2-4 books apiece by those mentioned in that article and review them over the next 1-2 months, just because I'd like to point out the great ones that were considered, even if four of them were in their 70s and 80s when considered (I think Durrell was the youngest, at not quite 50 and Greene was 57).
