I'm curious about the movie, though my gut tells me it'll be dismal. Other than coming across Burrough's world in one of L. Sprague de Camp's short stories I know nothing of the source material. Can anyone enlighten me? Does the movie have any hope?

Good stuff, if you aren't put off by books obviously written so long ago (e.g. Welles, Verne, Twain)
