I have heard of a trilogy he has written about three versions of California (if I have understood it correctly). Have you read it?

PACIFIC EDGE, the first Robinson book I read. It was pretty good. The idea about it was to present three views of the same area (Orange County in California) in three different timelines, a dystopia (THE GOLD COAST), a post-apocalyptic scenario (THE WILD SHORE) and a utopia (PACIFIC EDGE). I've been meaning to go back and read the other two for about 20 years now :)

I went to a conference where it was discussed. It did sound very interesting. I think I'll have to read it when I go to California later this summer.
