I read City and the City and it was just kinda disappointing... At least compared to the Bas Lag books. I don't remember what my issues with it were anymore, but I think it was something about it being underwhelming. I just have this memory of the story and premise kinda fizzling out.

But anyway, is this book an improvement on that one? I really liked the Bas Lag books a lot, so I'd love to read some more Mieville.
