Francophone TV still has literary shows nowadays, but they're much faster paced and not always as literary as before. In the 50s, they took the time to interview people, as the linked article points out.

Rue 89 has post a bunch of archival interviews from the 50-60s with famous writers that might be of interest to some, including a then first TV appearance by Henry Miller, Albert Camus, Prévert. Pérec, Man Ray and a very long interview with Borgès from 1964 where he looks back on his body of works.

All interviews are of course in French. Miller's a bit laborious, but still quite understandable.
