If you have managed to get through 8 books, 2 more shouldn't be a problem. jh Send a noteboard - 02/10/2009 08:49:05 PM
I've gotten this far, and I genuinely do like the series and many of the characters, but there are still three things that irk me:

1. Too many characters. I want to see my favorites, but it's difficult to see some of them very often.

2. The interminable plot build-up. I think he could cut 250 pages out of every book and lose nothing. I dread reading 700+ pages to get to the part that actually gets my blood pumping.

3. That leads directly into the third one: deus ex. Really? How many times will Ganoes just WIN because he has cool trading cards?

However, I was kind of annoyed at some side stories in RG...

It could be a good idea to read Return of the Crimson Guard before RG, though, unless you don't mind getting some spoilers.

Also, the story focuses on the letherii army and the barghast at the same continent... if they are not your characters, you are out of luck.
