I'm actually pretty ignorant of the corpus of English poetry. Ghavrel Send a noteboard - 05/04/2015 12:27:26 AM

I know back to the Romantics, and that's about it. Of course I know Shakespeare, and Chaucer, and Milton, but pretty much anyone else from before the 19th century is beyond me.

"We feel safe when we read what we recognise, what does not challenge our way of thinking.... a steady acceptance of pre-arranged patterns leads to the inability to question what we are told."
