Beside it is SciFi if you want feminism read YA, lots tragic but ass kicking fierce female to be had there.

Not really after feminism, and have read and enjoyed Heinlein in the past, but what I read about what Piers Anthony put into the Xanth series and his Firefly novel seems somewhat disturbing, so puts me off, but as I said I think I've then projected this on to Philip K Dick unfairly.
