It's mostly derivative, it's repetitive and it's silly. I don't fault people for wanting a bit of escapism now and then but society is inundated with escapist entertainment. Whether it's people with magic powers running around in colored underwear or people with magic powers flying through space, or people with magic powers fighting monsters, it's all just really silly and there's way too much of it. I'm sick of it all. Magic systems, made-up races, fake names that all sound the same - garbage. All of it. Hell, they even made me sick of Star Wars now. I watched the last movie and just kept looking at my watch. It was a rehash of the first movie from 1977 with a less compelling story.
